A. San-Lab For University-Incubators:
The important role San-Lab is playing to create and develop of high Technology Enterprises of University Incubators having technology initiatives that should facilitate knowledge flows from the university to the incubator firms, specially in the areas of IT, Telecom ,Semiconductors, Medical electro devices, Aviation & Nano-electronics. This has aroused appreciable sensation in the USA /Canada/UK and entire Europe .
In particular San-Lab concerning the potential role of "Business Incubators", linked to Universities are as follows:
- Communicating information and direct practical experience of the innovative technology and its implications in the business world.
- Propagating medium of fostering the development of enterprises in terms of providing technological & scientific resources ,such as innovation, process, market-identification ,over all feasibility study , R&D supports from concepts to products ,quality & performance metrics identification and monitoring- which make helps the business-grow.
- Provides perpetual Technology and Business oriented information which could influence University curriculum and incubation activities.
- Support for the development within Universities of an technology and business environment favorable to the overall growth of the industry.
- Helping the Incubators to learn Competitiveness in the innovation and emerging technological arena and conduct orientation programs how to position their organization.
- Provide supports much like other incubators, academic-affiliated programs have a variety of goals, including promoting economic development, commercializing new technologies, and enhancing universities' research missions. Relationships between colleges and universities and business incubation programs follow three basic models:
- University-run incubation programs, which may be operated as a division within the school itself or as a separate entity under the school's jurisdiction;
- Incubators with formal partnerships with colleges or universities; and
- Incubation programs with informal relationships with colleges or universities.
- Thus San-Lab actually investigate and map up the all technological research question of how knowledge actually flows from universities to incubator firms. Moreover, assess the effect of these knowledge flows on incubator firm-level differential performance. Based on the resource-based view of the firm and the absorptive capacity construct, San-Lab advance the overarching hypothesis that knowledge flows should enhance incubator firm performance. Our evidence suggests that incubator firms' absorptive capacity is an important factor when transforming university knowledge into firm-level competitive advantage.
B. THE SPATIAL BUSINESS MODEL OF THE San-Lab TO THE UNIVERSITY INCUBATORS
San-Lab developing big businesses out of new technical knowledge, became a innovative Business Model inspiring many Incubators to attempt the same. This model of business creation is often expressed as a linear process. Let us look at a simplified version of such a process focusing on the university incubator, and see what spatial aspects can be found on the way.
The general aim is to connect the sphere of the university world to the sphere of businesses. Several different links can be and are being developed with this aim. One of these is the university incubator. It is a specific arena for this interaction. It is placed near the university and facilitated to make the arena attract the would-be entrepreneurs from the university and give response to their specific demands, which is also determined by the San-Lab . The anticipated outcome is businesses that can take place in business environments elsewhere.
The San-Lab university incubator, seen as a linear process with the focus on how to coordinate and make effective actions in time, can generally be described by the following activities:
- San-Lab provides Technological ideas, concepts and skills are facilitated into the incubator and evaluated according to their business potentials.
- San-Lab filters Technological ideas of the Incubators which are framed to be transformed into a business form, where they can also take help of the facilities provided by the San-Lab.
- San-Lab act as guide in transforming from Ideas to R&D and ultimately developing product ,San-Lab entrepreneurial innovative business model starts to take place within the incubator and become a competent Business Partner depending on the viable project ideas. and predictable future growth.
